Ayr racecourse is the premier horse racing venue in Scotland. Both Flat fixtures and National Hunt races are held at the course and it is home to the Coral Scottish Grand National and William Hill Gold Cup Festival, both of which are highlights in the British racing calendar. All year round racing combined with superb hospitality makes Ayr races a first choice day out in one of Scotland's most popular visitor destinations.

Horse racing at Ayr dates back to the 16th century and became established at the current racecourse in 1907. It is considered a good galloping track providing all the spectacle and thrill of superb racing. Ayr racecourse is family friendly and there are many family oriented activities and entertainment associated with certain events, such as the Ghouls and Goblins race day at Halloween.

The town is a popular visitor destination and there are plenty of accommodation options, bars, restaurants and beachfront, for those who travel from far and wide for the races. The main event however will always be race day itself and a horse racing experience which is hard to beat.
